Running on Empty follows inspiring Aboriginal people learning to cope with trauma and grief and who are working in the areas of health, culture, police and business supporting people with trauma and trying to create positive changes in their behaviour. Through their eyes we see how they are trying to thrive rather than just survive and navigate the obstacles that are in the way of creating behavioural change. The layers of trauma passed down the generations are revealed through the stories told by the people that have lived through trauma and through the eyes of those who try and help them lead better lives. It’s a tough road to creating positive change and it takes commitment from families and consistent support from the people who are helping them. The issues people are dealing with will be revealed as well as the quality of support they are receiving and the solutions to improving their mental health.
