In the afterglow of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023 we celebrate the rise and continued rise of the women’s game, from the early days of paying-to-play in front of small crowds to 2023, appearing in sold out stadiums watched by over 11 million Australians at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, the largest recorded viewership in Australian television history.
During Maggie Miles’ twelve years in the Northern Territory she had an Award-wining stint as Artistic Director of Corrugated Iron Youth Arts, where she wrote the acclaimed plays BRANDED and Worry Dolls. Maggie was Company Director and Senior Producer of Burrundi Pictures, a co-producing entity on the groundbreaking feature Yolngu Boy which premiered at the Telluride Film Festival. Maggie produced the features Van Diemen’s Land, The Turning, Paper Planes, Force Of Destiny, Guilty which she co-wrote, and High Ground on which she was also a script consultant. Maggie directed the documentary Dare to Be Different, a special version of which aired on ABC Compass and was voice director on the Kunwinjku and Ngukurr Kriol language versions of Little J & Big Cuz.
Maggie Eudes is an emerging Director, Director of Photography (DOP) and experienced drone operator based in Melbourne, born and raised in Paris, France. She has worked in camera departments across a range of Australian television shows including Mustangs F.C. (ABC), Five Bedrooms (Channel 10) and Hungry Ghosts (SBS) as well as sports broadcasting for the Australian Open and the World Surf League. Maggie has been a DOP and creative consultant on a range of short films including Eggs, Undefined and Don’t Leave as well as several music videos for Melbourne music producer Simba Andrews. Maggie founded and runs the social impact video production company Milestone Films which works with non-profit organisations and government agencies to tell impact driven screen stories across mental health, refugee advocacy, philanthropy and education. A passion for Football has taken Maggie around the globe. She played at a semi-professional level in France, Spain and Canada before joining the Australian women’s premier league.
