The Price Of Conflict

The immense suffering caused by global conflict combined with climate shocks and rising food and energy prices, makes 2023 a year of vast humanitarian need. We are beginning to understand the cost of conflict at an economic level as a result of Ukraine, but what we are yet to comprehend is the true impact of conflict on those most vulnerable, women and children. Today, more than 103 million people are forcibly displaced worldwide. The majority are women and children, many of whom are struggling to survive and face daily threats to their safety, health, human rights and dignity. Sexual violence, girl-child kidnappings, human trafficking and child marriages are soaring while access to education, resources, financial literacy and financial independence is diminishing. Additionally, mounting losses of agricultural land is adding to increasingly dire global food shortages with 50 million people starting 2023 on the brink of famine.

To encourage the creation of a healthier world in order to free women and children from the trappings of violent conflict and multidimensional poverty, and ensure a healthy and sustainable future for all.

This project is a vehicle for an international audience to journey into a humanitarian crisis and to begin to understand the complexities of conflict and the resulting consequences on and for women and children. By presenting the situation to a global audience, the project will emphasise the importance of wealth sharing as a significant and necessary step in Peacebuilding. This project is supported by THE FREE WOMAN MOVEMENT, a solutions- focused movement with a goal to help facilitate long-term localised systemic change and on-the-ground adaptations to lift women and children out of poverty across the globe and into a healthy future of sustainable peace, leadership, self-determination, financial literacy and independence.

We are partnered with the United Nations and a host of local NGO and community organisations including Translators Without Borders, World Food Programme and the Nigerian Terrorism Unit. In Australia, KARI Foundation has recently come onboard our medium-term vision which includes providing financial aid to indigenous female leadership teams toward end of 2023.
