In the heart of the northern suburbs of Melbourne lies an unorthodox funeral home, where a vibrant and unapologetic team of women are revolutionising the experience of death. At The Last Hurrah, the terminally ill plan their own funerals, in control of everything from their method of burial to the invite list. Others are helped to farewell their loved ones in a bespoke and highly personalised way that pays tribute to each unique individual. THE LAST HURRAH will take the audience deep inside this unique service, from the bedsides of the dying, to the raw grief of the living, revealing the lives of the extraordinary staff and what drew them to this work and inviting viewers to reconsider how to grieve and how to pay tribute to our loved ones.
