Following the film’s world premiere at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival in February 2023, Rachel’s Farm was selected for the 2023 Sydney Film Festival ( a Finalist for the Sustainable Future Award and Documentary Australia Award), having it’s Australian premiere at the festival in June 2023, attracting a full house to the SFF Meet the Filmmakers session and screening regionally in NSW as part of the SFF Travelling Film Festival.
Released in cinemas through Madman Entertainment, in collaboration with Regen Studios, on 3rd August 2023, the film screened across the country, with 26 Q&A screenings facilitated by Regen Studios across NSW, VIC, QLD and WA.
With the launch of the Rachel’s Farm impact campaign in 2023 we are already seeing an increase in consumer awareness of regenerative agriculture and its power to heal our climate and food system, with audience surveys showing many who had not been aware of this solution before the film and now feeling inspired to take action and purchase from regen producers. It has also served as a galvanising tool for existing regenerative farmers and associated organisations and agribusinesses who are trying to fix our broken food system. Regen Studios have delivered a multi-platform impact campaign across the Rachel’s Farm / Regenerators website and social media building on themes from the film and providing avenues for consumers and farmers to learn more and take action.
Education resources created include a Community Screening toolkit, School Action toolkit and Education toolkits targeted to upper secondary school, tertiary, and community-run adult education programs. We have also partnered with Cool.org to incorporate info and clips from Rachel’s Farm into a package of 20 Regenerative Agriculture lessons mapped to the Upper Primary and Secondary national curriculum.
