Musician/author/actor Lo Carmen forged deep connections with some remarkable counter culture ‘lighters of the way’; creative trailblazers, rebels, provocateurs and activists across multiple eras, such as Australia’s first female rock star and queer icon Wendy Saddington, heroic police corruption whistleblower Sallie Anne Huckstepp, acclaimed multihyphenate performer Robyn Archer, dancer/troublemaker/AIDS educator Suzi Sidewinder, ‘difficult woman’ Renée Geyer and Lo’s grandmother Pat, a survivor of forced adoption policy. Lovers Dreamers Fighters brings to the screen Lo’s 2022 memoir/cultural history of the same name, illuminating the profound influence and true stories of these dynamic lovers, dreamers and fighters in a 6 x 30min documentary series.
