This production and post-production has been self-funded. Our production company Planet Fungi has covered the costs of salaries, travel, equipment and we have invested our time-lapses. We have crowdfunded via Go Fund Me and Documentary Australia for out of pocket expenses of final post-production of music composition and production, colour grade, sound mix, stock footage, visual effects and graphics and raised $33,000. In December 2023 Michelle Marie Bailey, a US philanthropist, donated $20,000 for the outreach campaign and to enable the creation of a study guide.
