A Musician, Creator, Director, Producer, and Performer, Chris’s passion for solo Mime performance saw him create and extensively touring successful solo stage shows throughout Australia, whilst simultaneously pursuing his parallel career in television, with ABC, SBS, and commercial networks.
He developed the idea of adapting one of his solo stage shows to television, creating his unique, stage-to-screen adaptation of his solo comedy version of Romeo & Juliet, titled ‘Son of Romeo’ which went on to win a number of international awards and has been included in the permanent collections of both the Museum of Television and Radio in New York, and Australia’s National Film & Sound Archive (NFSA), due to its uniquely innovative use of the television medium. Chris’s practice-led Doctorate has seen him teach performance and/or design in several universities, and he was the inaugural Director of Higher Education at the Australian Performing Arts Conservatory from 2012-2022.
