Carla has a background across a large part of the arts as a performer, composer, director, writer and management. For ten years she was principal flute with the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra, performing at the Sydney Opera House.
Her film production company specialises in the making of arts documentaries. She has skills across the spectrum of filmmaking – production, direction, cinematography, editing and composing. “The Art of Sound”, for string quartet and narration, was made for ABC Radio. The award-winning documentary, “Sex, Drugs and String Quartets” was broadcast on ABC TV, shown at international film festivals and won Carla an AGSC award for her film score. Her most recent film “The Last Violin” won two “Best Documentary” awards at European festivals and will be screened on SBS in 2024.
