With access to a diverse Graffiti community, we follow three key protagonists. Whiz, fighting to keep his pirate radio network beaming across Melbourne’s fringe communities; Mags, a young artist teetering on the edge of a defining moment in her life; and Mic, a multifaceted artist whose expressionistic art is causing waves in Melbourne’s fine art scene.
Graffiti weaves these stories together, but Melbourne’s complex relationship towards it pushes back hard against each of them in their pursuit of a creative life. As each character’s story unfolds, the film probes deep questions about graffiti’s role in their lives and its connection to humanity’s timeless need to leave a mark.
