Disconnect Me is a feature film examining the ever-pervasive role of technology in our lives. Directed by independent filmmaker Alex Lykos(Alex & Eve, Me & My Left Brain), the film centres around Alex who disconnects from his smartphone, indeed all of his devices, for 30 days.
How will he and those around him react? What will be the effects on his life? Will he be happier or unhappier?
Specifically made for the cinema, Disconnect Me is attempting to innovate the cinemagoing experience by crafting a fresh interactive film which encourages audiences to engage with the film in real time using their smartphones.
Along the way, Alex investigates the social impacts of the smartphone and social media, interviewing children, teenagers and adults.
Can YOU live without your smartphone?
