Homelessness among women in Australia is a significant and growing problem. In recent years, the number of women experiencing homelessness has been increasing at an alarming rate, with women now making up a larger percentage of the homeless population than ever before. The scale of the issue is massive, with tens of thousands of women across the country struggling to find stable, secure housing. The Eden Tiny House Project models one potential solution to this problem, by providing women with the skills and resources to build their own affordable homes and reclaim their independence and dignity.

Our impact vision is to create a character-driven documentary series that will inspire innovative solutions to the housing crisis. Through the series and impact campaign, we aim to raise awareness about the issue of rising homelessness among women in Australia and advocate for policy changes that prioritise safe and affordable housing for all.

Our documentary project Tiny Castles aims to achieve several key goals. Firstly, it seeks to raise awareness of the issue of homelessness, particularly as it affects women in Australia. By showcasing the stories of women who have experienced homelessness, the documentary aims to promote empathy and understanding among viewers, and to generate support for initiatives that seek to address the problem.
Secondly, the project aims to showcase the potential of tiny homes as one solution to homelessness. By following the journey of the women involved in the Eden Tiny House Project, viewers will see firsthand the transformative power of having a secure and affordable home.
Thirdly, the project aims to inspire action and promote change. By showing how a grassroots initiative can make a real difference in the lives of women at risk of homelessness, the documentary aims to inspire others to take action in their own communities.

The Eden Tiny House Project is a key partner in our documentary, providing us with access to experts working in the space, as well as women at risk of homelessness. We will continue to consult stakeholders throughout the process to determine the most important messages to share through the series.

We aim to inspire and empower our audiences to take action towards sustainable and affordable housing solutions. We want to encourage our audiences to advocate for solutions to the housing crisis that meet the needs of homeless women and women at risk of homelessness. We also want to activate audience members to support policy changes that make it easier for people to build and live in tiny homes. This could include changes to zoning laws, building codes, and regulations. Through the process of making the documentary we will continue to consult experts and people with lived experiences about the most important messages to disseminate.
