Saving Tuvalu follows three young Tuvaluans facing an uncertain future as their homeland disappears beneath rising seas. On the brink of losing everything, they become involved in preservation projects, including the building of a digital nation that promises to transfer their culture and identity online. But not everyone is turning to digitisation for salvation.
Kate Blackmore has created over 25 short documentaries the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, including the Walkley Award nominated series THE MOVEMENT. In 2025, Blackmore’s debut feature documentary MAKE IT LOOK REAL premiered internationally at SXSW, Austin, Texas and is represented by Autlook Film Sales.
Amelia Tovey’s work includes award-winning campaign ads, commercials, music videos and documentaries. She has built a career working to uplift social movements. Her short films have been exhibited internationally and featured in the New York Times. Amelia is currently in post-production on her debut feature documentary, ALL OF US.
Bernard Kato Ewekia Taomia is a youth climate activist from Tuvalu, who made history as the first youth Tuvaluan delegate to participate COP 26. Currently, Ewekia is the national leader of the non-governmental organisation Saving Tuvalu Global Campaign, focused on sustainable strategies to address his country’s environmental and humanitarian crisis.
