Five women set out on an ambitious surf and overland journey with no guaranteed outcome.
Beginning in Australia, they travel to California to prepare for an approximately 3,000 mile expedition from Mexico through Central America to Panama. None of them are professional surfers. What unites them is a shared willingness to leave the familiar behind and step into uncertainty together.
As the journey unfolds, the physical demands of the ocean are matched by the realities of overland travel. Border crossings slow progress. Rules shift without warning. Vehicles break down. Paperwork is questioned. Delays and setbacks accumulate, testing patience, endurance, and trust within the group.
Rather than offering lessons or transformation, the series observes what emerges through sustained effort and proximity. Friendship deepens and strains. Confidence rises and falters. Meaning surfaces quietly through movement, repetition, and the simple act of continuing.
The 3,000 Mile Line is an observational portrait of women in motion, navigating distance, risk, and uncertainty as they move through land, ocean, and each other.
Surf the Wild Woman is a journey of discovery into the wild nature of woman, where each encounter and experience along the way challenges these women to grow through humour and grace, whilst keeping open hearts and minds, so that they can become more of who they already are.
Enriching the tapestry of this journey, the women find themselves bumping shoulders with Janne Robinson, Tammi Lynn Kent and other inspiring women who embody the wild woman essence. They hit legendary, as well as local surf locations throughout Central America and beyond, in search of adventure.
