Saltwater Cowboys of Shark Bay

We believe this series will do more than just entertain an audience. We see it as an incredible platform to inspire, support and showcase Indigenous entrepreneurs to participate in the blue carbon economy.

Encourage and support First Nations peoples to establish and grow Indigenous-led blue-carbon businesses, empowering them to lead the development of the blue economy and sustainable marine industries.

We aim to foster greater understanding and support for Indigenous-led initiatives that balance financial growth with cultural and environmental responsibilities. By capturing their vibrant personalities, humour, and resilience, we hope to entertain audiences and spark dialogue about respecting Indigenous knowledge and traditions and supporting Indigenous business. We hope to inspire action, promote awareness, and showcase the diversity of Indigenous culture in a way that is both meaningful and entertaining, encouraging viewers to celebrate and support Indigenous communities’ journeys toward sustainable futures.

As a Noongar woman with extensive experience working across Australia—locally, regionally, in remote communities, and interstate—I have developed strong relationships and deep respect for my people and their stories. I have established connections in Shark Bay and know many community members and elders, which fosters trust and cultural safety. My work is guided by understanding, humility, and respect for cultural protocols, ensuring genuine access to community stories. I prioritise building collaborative partnerships, being transparent about the project, and ensuring community voices lead the storytelling. My approach aims to honour their stories authentically while empowering the community.
