Enter the Wild is an independent Australian wildlife documentary series that brings audiences into the hidden lives of animals across some of the continent’s most extraordinary landscapes. Told in cinematic episodes of under ten minutes, each story begins with intimate behaviour and opens into a larger exploration of ecology, culture and conservation.
The series has already followed a black-shouldered kite hunting with precision, a mother quokka searching for her joey, a reclusive wedge-tailed eagle surveying its territory and humpback whales moving through tropical seas. On K’gari, a dingo pack reveals the intelligence, social bonds and cultural significance of one of Australia’s most misunderstood predators. On remote Heard Island, penguins raising their young face the emerging threat of H5 avian influenza.
Future episodes will enter the waters of Western Australia with orcas, encounter great white sharks off South Australia, track saltwater crocodiles through the Northern Territory, and follow a hawksbill turtle around the HMAS Brisbane shipwreck on the Sunshine Coast.
Filmed by a minimal crew using observational, non-invasive methods, Enter the Wild combines rare wildlife behaviour with scientific insight, local expertise and First Nations knowledge where appropriate. Its short-form online format meets audiences where they are, transforming fleeting attention into wonder, understanding and action.
At a time of growing separation from nature, Enter the Wild aims to replace fear, distance and misinformation with curiosity, empathy and respect. By revealing what can be lost – and what can still be protected – the series seeks to build public support for wildlife research, responsible behaviour, stronger biosecurity and the long-term conservation of Australia’s species and wild places.
