In the midst of a global arms build-up, Australia is overhauling its defence operations and entering a new era, expanding into the space domain, preparing to utilise Artificial Intelligence on the battlefield and nuclear energy set to propel naval forces. Senior Googatha Elder and life-long anti-nuclear peace activist shares her story, exposing the hidden impacts on community and country of the emerging space defence industry.
Rocky is the director of Genetic Circus Productions. She has broadcast credits with SBS one and NITV, documentaries Urban Dreaming, Wurundjeri Baggarrook and Lady Lash, the latter supported by Film Victoria and Screen Australia. Lady Lash documentary peaked NITV ratings, presented by Carla Grant. Rocky has worked with Wurundjeri Tribal Council, First Nations Key creatives and senior Elders on many projects, including filming Lore men from Aṉangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara. In addition to filming Elders who were survivors of Atom Bomb testings. Her collaborations also have involved working together with West Papuan chiefs (from Biak) and she made a documentary series with the Timorese community during the 2006 Crisis in Timor Leste (Rocky is a Tetum speaker).
Rocky has won over 20 film festival awards & judged film festivals. She has a Masters of Int. Relations (Human Rights and Int. Law), BFA, Post Grd, Art Management.
