Many of the individuals who have dedicated their lives to maintaining this 163 year tradition are finding that there is a growing gap in participation from younger generations. Without the involvement of the younger generation, these iconic community events risk extinction.
By highlighting the dedication, skill, and passion of current volunteers, The Show seeks to inspire younger community members to get involved, ensuring that these culturally and socially important events continue to preserve the legacy of regional traditions for generations to come.

I’m a local to the area, growing up in Eden Park (neighbouring suburb), my family has been involved with the Whittlesea Show since I can remember. My sister, who is on the committee, asked us to volunteer our time to help out leading up to the 2022 Whittlesea Show. Working there for a few days, we developed some lovely friendships with the existing members and saw a heartfelt story about community and the joys of being a volunteer.

We aim to inspire audiences to actively participate in their communities. By showcasing the dedication of volunteers and the importance of the Whittlesea Show the film encourages viewers to give their time, contribute their skills, and support local events.
