Jon Oldmeadow

Jon M. Oldmeadow is a director and cinematographer with a strong focus on arts documentaries. His documentary work has been broadcast on Channel 4, Bloomberg, Al Jazeera and Foxtel/Binge. Recently, he was cinematographer on half hour documentary “Bushfire Babies” for Bloomberg Originals which won an ACS Silver Award in 2023. As a director, his short documentary “Adrift” won the Audience Choice Award at the 2017 St Kilda Film Festival and “Lâcher Prise (Letting Go)”, also a short documentary, screened at TEDx Sydney. He has completed short-form videos for a number of art museums and cultural organisations such as the Australian Ballet, Art Gallery of NSW, ACMI, the Sydney Opera House, and in 2015 he created a short documentary series “Marina Abramović: In Residence”. After growing up in the outer suburbs of Melbourne without visiting art galleries – a casual job labouring at the NGV while studying at art school led to Jon working alongside security guards, cleaners and tradespeople.
