Through World Wars, Olympic scandals, shocking tragedies and inspirational triumphs, filled with plot twists to rival any Hollywood blockbuster, this film explores the pursuit of excellence in all things, the important contribution immigrants make to Australian culture and society and fascinating personal insights into major historical events of the 20th Century.
Sally McLean is an award-winning actor, director, writer and producer whose acting credits include numerous mainstream Australian, UK and USA film and TV productions. Sally’s work behind the camera began with the BBC on documentary strands such as Bookmark and One Foot In The Past before forming her production business Incognita Enterprises under the Honorary Patronage of Academy Award® nominee, Sir Nigel Hawthorne. She has directed the critically acclaimed, multi award-winning series Shakespeare Republic, the award-winning short film Speaking Daggers commissioned for the inaugural Arts Learning Festival, and new limited series Dark Arcadia, supported by the British Shakespeare Association, Creative Australia, Creative Victoria & the City of Melbourne, currently in post-production. Her projects are included in official curated collections at Australia’s National Film & Sound Archive & she has also been an Advisory Board Member for Melbourne WebFest & the Howard Fine Acting Studio.
