Yemi Penn was only eight when she experienced sexual abuse at the hands of her uncle. Two and a half decades later, upon discovering that her abuser had become the sole guardian of her cousins, Yemi is struck with the fear that her silence might be perpetuating harm in her family. Determined to replace silence and shame with an open conversation, Yemi decides to revisit her childhood home and confront her family and uncle. Sitting face-to-face with her abuser, Yemi must now discover whether she will be able to reach the understanding she has been seeking, and more importantly, how this reunion might help break cycles of abuse.

Mustafa has produced an ongoing online short documentary series, ‘Out of Bounds’ which has garnered millions of views shedding light on stories of contemporary artists and advocates.
