Synopsis
This six-part documentary series follows Andrew, Olga and a team of Ukrainian soldiers through one complete training cycle – a mere 10 days, from commencing preparations at their rural farmhouse, to saying farewell to the soldiers as they head into combat.
Through observational filming, we will witness how their marriage and their mission have become inseparable. The intensity of their work juxtaposed with the surprising normalcy of their marriage. Training frightened conscripts by day and arguing over dinner at night. Delivering washing machines between chaotic medical evacuations. Attending military funerals and tending to their daughters needs with equal commitment.
What becomes of a marriage and a community, forged in war? Project Ukraine will share their story and show the world the heartbreak, and often astounding joy still possible for those caught in the war.
