Issue Summary

A short summary of the issue the documentary is addressing

We hope to help transgender and intersex people coming to terms with reconciling their faith and gender identity not only in Australia but all over the world. We envisage we can measure this impact by the number of hits we get on YouTube, and comments left on our Facebook page. We see this as the second instalment to our previous self-funded documentary 'Here I Am' which focussed on a similar theme, with the GLTBI community resolving their sexuality with their respective religious beliefs. ‘Faithfully Me’ will put the spotlight on gender identity and religion. As our documentary 'Here I Am' was distributed by SBS-on-Demand, we aim to expand on this well-established relationship and add ‘Faithfully Me” to their screening options.

The film will help nourish a quality of life for those who are struggling with their place not only in the world but their respective faiths. It will help promote a healthy and contemporary view on gender diverse people and their rightful place within the community. The project aims to nurture the welfare of those caught in the grip of reconciling their identity and their faith. We hope to educate the wider community on the issues facing transgender people not only within their respective faiths but their everyday life.

It is our hope that audience members come away with a much higher awareness of the plights of Transgender people within their own communities and faiths, and they have the courage to stand with them

Festival screenings, online engagement with facebook page and eventually measuring the amount of views online via youtube or another on demand screening platform
