Si (Simone) Paros (Parianos)

Si Paros is a documentary filmmaker and educator based in remote Western Australia. Her work focuses on social justice and incarceration, with particular attention to how legal processes shape individual lives over time.

Working largely independently and across borders, Si develops character-driven documentaries grounded in lived experience, ethical storytelling, and sustained community engagement. Her practice is informed by a background in education and community development, alongside long-term work in remote and regional settings.

Her debut feature documentary, My Name Is Robert Ruark, explores clemency, legal representation, and the personal impact of incarceration through a longitudinal, relational lens. Si’s work prioritises dignity, care, and complexity, seeking to contribute to thoughtful public understanding and dialogue.
