As Joe Camilleri’s daughter and director of All I Wanna Do, I have a uniquely personal and deeply embedded relationship to both the subject and the broader community surrounding his life and work. Having grown up within this world, I bring rare trust, proximity and long-standing access to Joe’s personal life, creative process, collaborators, family and the wider Australian music community. This relationship provides extraordinary access to private spaces, backstage environments, key contributors and authentic lived experiences that would otherwise be difficult to capture. Beyond family access, the project is also supported by established relationships with musicians, collaborators and cultural figures connected to Joe’s story, allowing the film to reflect both personal intimacy and broader community significance. This position enables Zep Boy to tell the story with authenticity, respect and emotional depth from both inside the family and within the wider cultural landscape it represents.
