Without these heavily researched and recorded interviews and newly uncovered archive, this history would most certainly have been lost. These parties created the blueprint for the multi-million dollar music festival, merch and stadium concert industry today. We were the pioneers of the party experience. The House Of Love puts this history on the record…before it’s lost!

For this film’s impact success looks like bringing this history full circle by re-launching the era, style, fashion and music in a series of parties at The Hordern Pavilion where it all started. Touring the film via international festivals will help international audiences to appreciate Australia’s clubbing history. Creating a bespoke exhibition and inviting others to share their footage, photos and stories so that the history of The House Of Love continues…for a new generation to get excited about where it all began.

Our outcome will be measured by recording this history which may have been lost.

Our director Mark Murphy, was there in the 80s and has been entrusted with important archival footage that will translate this era onto the big screen. Mark has been a leading figure in the dance music scene who has lived and breathed each clubbing generation, from the highs of the House boom, the birth and rise of new iconic parties to the lows of the lockdown laws. He is a true historian of the scene.

Our call to action would be to create a pathway to hold store and exhibit photos, films and fashions from this era. This will also allow old networks to re-engage with their community in a new era via screenings, fundraising events, exhibitions and social media.
