Ben has reported from more than fifty countries across Asia, Africa, Europe and the Pacific. His writing and photography have appeared in publications including TIME, The Wall Street Journal, The Telegraph, The Guardian and Nat Geo. He has interviewed political leaders, diplomats, business figures and conservation experts while reporting from some of the world’s most complex and challenging environments.
In 2005, Ben co-authored Black Market: Inside the Endangered Species Trade in Asia, a landmark investigation into the illegal wildlife trade. Widely recognised as one of the first books to expose the scale and sophistication of international wildlife trafficking networks, it was later identified by CNN as one of the most important works on the subject.
Today, Ben continues to balance frontline environmental investigations with long-form documentary and publishing projects, including books exploring cultural change and disappearing traditions across Southeast Asia.
