THE HOME FRONT

The plight of our modern war veterans in transitioning from military to civilian life and the obstacles and barriers affecting their health, lives and futures and those of their families.

A co-ordinated national outreach program to educate Australians on the reality of the lives of our veterans, showcasing the inspiring successes and sensitively portraying the battles that continue long after veterans leave service. It will be aimed at veterans, their friends and families, ex-service organisations, bureaucracies, health service providers, corporate and political decision makers, schools, government agencies and communities.

To foster an increased awareness of veterans’ problems, to reassure them they are not alone in facing their difficulties and to provoke action from politicians and bureaucracies to focus on solutions to the problems and to highlight the changes to services and programs needed to achieve this.

We have developed and continue to seek partnerships with ex-service organisations, veterans’ associations, ADF, RSL and services clubs, associated government agencies and thought leaders in the field of veterans’ issues. They are assisting with our baseline research, guiding us to potential talent and will open avenues for outreach when the project has been completed.

We aim to inspire viewers to act by welcoming veterans into their communities, by prodding decision-makers into serious consideration and remedial action to alleviate issues and by ensuring their families, friends and communities are informed about the issues.
