Get approved for fiscal sponsorship
and start raising funds for your documentary tax effectively.
Are you currently developing a documentary project? Have you finished production and needing to fund an impact and outreach campaign? Are you about to start fundraising for your project?
years DAF’s fiscal sponsorship program has been helping independent Australian
documentary projects get funded, finished, seen and making an impact. Our
fiscal sponsorship program is open to independent filmmakers and documentarians,
regardless of education, background or previous credits. Whether this is your
first film, if you’ve been making documentaries longer than we’ve been supporting
them, or if you have an idea and a plan, we can help.
Apply to have your documentary approved for fiscal sponsorship with DAF and start building partnerships and fundraising for your film using our Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) Status.
This means that donations made to your film are 100% tax-deductible, which is an excellent incentive for funders. Many public and private institutions, along with individual donors, require you to have not-for-profit status to make tax-deductible donations.
By getting approved by DAF you will be able to receive funding from sources you were previously ineligible to receive. For more information about this visit Filmmakers FAQ.
Documentary projects are accepted to DAF only after passing through a review process.
In order to be eligible, you must meet the following requirements:
Your project must be a non-fiction film, video or multimedia project.
The project director (or producer) must have an Australian Business Number.
The project application should reflect your ability to develop a quality project and your ability to identify funding sources. Although your film may be on any social issue, the film must have a clear social impact goal and must not reflect values that unlawfully discriminate, according to the UN Declaration of Human Rights.
If your project is eligible, you will need to submit an application. Submissions are taken each quarter.
